    Title:
Is it possible to capitalize an asset in current period which should start depreciating in next period
    Summary:
Is it possible to capitalize an asset in current period which should start depreciating in next perio
    Content:

Capitalize an asset in DEC 2017 which should not start depreciated in DEC2017

Instead it starts depreciating in Jan 2018

How to configure it. I tried using 'Original Depreciation Start Date' as 1-Jan-2018 in Advance Rules, but it doesn't work

      Hi Manish

You need to ensure that the Prorate date is 01-JAN-2018 by setting up Prorate convention of next month . This way the depreciation would be taken in JAN-2018 and asset can be capitalized in the DEC-2017

      Thanks

      Rohan

      Hi Rohan,

      Thanks..

I have this requirement for 1 asset only.

I will check with business whether they are ready to have a new Prorate convention which take next month as prorate date.

      Regards,

      Manis
