Registering user account on Supplier Portal - Tax Registration Number in UK
I would like clarification on the required format of Tax Registration Number in UK

I am currently testing Oracle Fusion R13 functionality. When registering or creating a supplier (and creating 'User Account' for supplier portal), you are informed that at least 1 of the following fields should be completed.

    1) D-U-N-S Number

    2) Taxpayer ID

    3) Tax Registration Number

We have had quite a few issues with the user account creation failing and wonder whether this relates to the format of the above being input incorrectly. Could somebody clarify the format that these numbers / IDs should be in for UK users? Will Fusion accept dummy / fake numbers for testing purposes? We keep using unique email addresses but most user accounts fail.

    1) D-U-N-S - understand that this should be a 9 or 13 digit number - is this correct?

    2) Taxpayer ID - is this an ID number only used in the U.S.?

    3) Tax Registration Number - Is this what is commonly known as VAT Reg No. in UK? What format should it be inputted in (GB677890987 - no gaps?)

    Many thanks!

Supplier User account creation is not dependant on these fields. Can you please provide more details on any error you receive when you try to save the supplier profile?

Are you using supplier self registration URL ? or using using Register supplier or Create Supplier tasks as internal user ?

Thanks Swami for your response. That is right. Creation of user account is independent of the three attributes mentioned and their validations/format. Please note:

      1. About the attributes:

D-U-N-S number attribute accepts a 9 OR 13 digits number only, which you have rightly mentioned.

Taxpayer ID does not have any specific validation, and you are right, this is mostly US specific and is used for 1099 reporting purpose.

Tax Registration Number, can be referred to VAT Registration Number (UK). For UK specific validations, we will need to check with tax team and confirm.

      2. About registration process and user account creation:

Creating user account is independent of these attributes. In fact, if you are registering a supplier along with a request to create user account as well, the user account creation is not initiated unless the supplier being registered is successfully created. This means, the registration request MUST get approved AND processed successfully (supplier created). If there are validations on TRN format, the supplier creation fails and registration request even after being approved errors. So there is no question of having a user account created.

Let us know if you need further clarification.

      Hello Rich,

As per the process followed in earlier releases, only mail id is required/mandatory for creating supplier user. Supplier user account will be created with mail id as their user id.

From "Manage Supplier User Roles" setup task, we can specify what supplier roles will be defaulted/assigned to the supplier user account during its creation.
