    Title:
Auto-render URLs and copy+paste images from clipboard
    Summary:
    Missing features / UX enhancements
    Content:

    Hi,

Compared to the developer communities (ex OTN) there are two things which really hamper things here and make writing responses a lot slower:

1.) Auto-rendering URLs as such when pasted in to a post. Why the additional step of having to format them as URLs?!

2.) And this is the really, REALLY nasty one: Why is it not possible to simply paste an image in-line with the text when we have it in the clipboard? The "image upload and selection" process with upload or URL references means the image needs to be saved first on disk or uploaded somewhere first and then either uploaded or referenced.

    "I take a screenshot, it's in the clipboard, I press Ctrl+V, it's done" - that's more lightyears more convenient.

      Hi Christian,

Thank you for being a valued member of Oracle Cloud Customer Connect. We appreciate your feedback and understand your frustration with the system limitation. We will review these once again with our dev team to consider our options.

      Regards

      Hemal

      Hi Christian,

I forgot to mention in my comment earlier that the copy and paste of image does work as expected. Here is a test for the same

      HI Christian,

I just tested the same logging in as a regular user to ensure that it was not related to permissions. I am able to paste images directly from another webpage. Is it anything specific that fails or are you having issues pasting images from another webpage too.

Copying an image from a given webpage is not the same as being able to post any image in the clipboard.

Screenshots from - for example - Oracle cloud products / applications are not "images from another webpage". And actual screenshots are quite a bit more pertinent to user's problems than canned images.

Note: this is NOT thee correct reply. Hit the button by accident and this wonderful forum doesn't allow un-selecting answers once they are selected as "correct".

The problem still exists and there just wasn't any update after I reported that it doesn't work.

Hi Christian, The forum does allow to remove the comment that you have selected as the best answer but it is visible to admins only. I have removed the best answer selected. As you have mentioned, the editor has some limitation about the copy paste for images, but you can save an image and then upload the same using the image option in the editor.

          Regards Hemal

But you can't upload multiple images. So writing a whole answer with supporting images for the differnt things that are happening is impossible.

As I said that's a HUGE disadvantag and step back in terms of usability which the old ODC forums support perfectly well
