We have a business requirement to prevent supplier users from creating a supplier profile change to update the company name using supplier portal profile change. How do we prevent supplier making edit to company name field and make it just read only? Any pointers to achieve this in the supplier portal?
Hi Ramesh,
This can be achieved using page composer, to make the Company Name as read only.
Thanks,
Piyush
Thanks Piyush. Will try using Page composer and see if that works.
Piyush,
If I need to make all tabs as read only but only allow changes to the Contacts tab, how can this is achieved?
Thanks,
Manoj
HI,
I have a similar requirement where in we want to disabled editing of address via supplier portal. It would be helpful if you can share screenshots or some reference documents on how to do it using page composer.
Thanks
Hi Anoop,
Instead of customizing Supplier Portal, can you not create a custom role as a copy of seeded role and from that remove the privilege that allows editing supplier addresses? This is more standard/preferred approach but you will have to update job roles for all the supplier users. If this is not what you want to do, then you can follow these steps:
1. Create a dummy supplier with a user having user active user account,
2. Through security console, assign Procurement Application Administrator job role to this user,
3. Log into Supplier Portal as this user and customize the page as needed (Create Sandbox > Edit the page > Publish the Sandbox). It should be same as how you customize internal pages.
Thanks,
Piyush
Hi Piyush,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I will try to use option 1 also.
Meanwhile I was working on option 2, i.e. customizing the supplier portal page. I have given Procurement Application Administrator role, Ran LDAP. Logged in to supplier portal again. Created sandbox. But when I tried to edit the page, options like delete, edit.. are disabled. Attached a screenshot.
Hi Anoop,
Can you share the screen shot of what you are seeing. Can you also share screen shots of the sandbox page (you used to create the sandbox).
Thanks,
Piyush
The highlighted text shows that you are editing an action, whereas you need to edit the tabs, right? Did you try tabs too?
Thanks,
Piyush
