I want to explore using the Reconciliation Reference to reconcile payroll costs using the Reconcile Clearing Accounts feature.
This will require me to populate the "Reconciliation Reference" field in the General Ledger entries created by the Subledger Accounting engine. The Reconciliation Reference would need to present in the Journal Line for the reconciliation process to work.
Has anyone achieved this and would you be able to provide guidance on how you achieved this?
Hi Janelle,
I did not do it for Payroll, but used it a lot for Payables.
1) Create an Implementation project with only your SLA task (it will save you time, you can select your scope from there). The task list to add is "Define Subledger Accounting Rules"
2) Navigate to "Manage Accounting Attributes" and add as a Reconciliation Reference the attribute you want
3) Duplicate your Journal Line Rule on which you want the reconciliation reference. Add it in the third tab as a Reconciliation Reference
4) Replace the standard JLR in a custom Journal Entry Rule Set
5) Place this Journal Entry Rule Set in a custom Accounting Method
Of course your account should be set as Reconcile = Y (run Inherit Segment Values" for your combinations if needed).
Cheers
Thanks, I picked this up and referring to step 3. "Add it in the third tab as a Reconciliation Reference", in some JLR the third tab does not have Reconciliation in the Accounting Attribute Group. Do you if this is a Lookup or extensible field? I know there is a job to Create and Assign Subledger Sources but it doesn't seem to add Accounting Attributes to the JLR if they were not originally there. Could be a bug on the particular JLR I am trying!
