Requisition Header DFF not visible in the UI
    Summary:
DFF is configured at context level and not visible in Requisition Page even though I have enabled it using Page Customization
    Content:

    Hi All,

I have implemented context level dff in requisition headers, then I have enabled the "descriptive flexfield" in Requisiton Header page using page customization and yet it is not visible in the page. Please help.

This is the document I followed to enabled the dff.

What Are The Steps to Enable Requisition DFF In Rel 11 (Doc ID 2192859.1)

    Thanks,

    Jay

    Hi Jay,

When you write 2 contexts - I am assuming your context segment at the header level can have two possible values - Sales Tax and Income Tax.

You assigned "Sales Tax" for the BU in question as the value of the header level context.

Now, speaking of "Department" - is this a dependent context segment for the value Sales Tax? Are you able to see the values that you expect in the segment?

I am not sure why "Department" should show twice but let me hear from you on the above and then we can analyse.

    Thanks,

    Maithily

Can you attach screenshots of the steps you followed in customizing the page? I realize you posted a support note. But I want to check what steps you followed. I will also try to find a document that we may have internally to see if something jumps out.

      Hi Ashok,

Thanks for the reply. I have followed the same steps to bring the dff as in the Support Note.

Ok. I will have someone take a look and revert.

      Thank you very much!

      Hi Jayaganesh,

For a requisition BU we need to configure the value of a Context DFF using the "Configure Requisitioning BU Options" FSM task.

See attached screenshot. Once your Context DFF is defined and deployed completely along with values, go to the task and specify a value for the header level DFF. It should show on the UI.

      Thanks,

      Maithily

      Hi Maithily,

Thanks for the reply. I still find issues to achieve the requirement. Let me put forward my case

      Example:             TAX: (Sales Tax/Income Tax)

If it is Sales Tax then, DEPT: 01 (01 to 10)

If Income Tax,     NAPI: Yes (Yes/No)

I have created 2 contexts (Sales Tax and Income Tax) and assigned Sales Tax in the above FSM task. Now I am able to view only the Department value in the UI. PFA.

      Thanks,

      Jay.

      Hi Maithily,

Please find my response below in BOLD.

When you write 2 contexts - I am assuming your context segment at the header level can have two possible values - Sales Tax and Income Tax.

A: Yes my Contexts are  example: Sales Tax and Income Tax.

You assigned "Sales Tax" for the BU in question as the value of the header level context.

A: Yes, I have assigned it.

Now, speaking of "Department" - is this a dependent context segment for the value Sales Tax? Are you able to see the values that you expect in the segment?

A: Yes, I am able to view the values.

I am not sure why "Department" should show twice but let me hear from you on the above and then we can analyse.

      A: Yes, I am not sure why it appears twice, amd also Why am I not able to see the field Context: ??? {from which I have to select Sales Tax or Income Tax and then depending on my selection the Department or NAPI should populate right??}

      Thanks,

      Jay.

        Hi Jay,

I confirmed with development that the context segment will not be visible in SSP. All the user can do is setup a value for the context at the BU level and view the dependent segments on that value.

As far as why Department is appearing twice - could you please recheck if there is a global segment Department and a Context Sensitive Segment with the same prompt?

        Thanks,

        Maithily.

    • Jayaganesh Alagirisamy

      Hi Maithily,

Thanks for the reply. When you mean SSP, what is that?

No, there is no Global segment as "Department", but the context sensitive DFF is the standard functionality right? I have configured the same in AP for my previous project. Is there a limitation for Requisition? I have also raised a SR for this issue.

SR 3-21390275331 : Unable to view Requisition Header DFF in the UI (Context Sensitive)

      Thanks,

      Jay.

I meant Self Service Procurement - Requisitions app. This is a requisitions specific behavior.

      Thanks,
