    Title:
    Adding and embedding BI content into Fusion Cloud Applications
    Summary:
    Looking for guidelines on which Fusion Cloud Applications pages we can add or embed BI content into
    Content:

    Hi All,

    Our client wants to be able to add some BI content to the Payables > Invoices page in Oracle Fusion Financials Cloud. Ideally they would like to add their own custom Infolet-like report to this page, but I am not sure this is possible...

    I was thinking that a potential option would be to use the Page Integration wizard to add a new tab to the Payables > Invoices page and include a custom BI report that displays the desired information.

    I have setup the tab in the Page Integration wizard and have confirmed that the new icon appears to the left of the Payables > Invoices page. However, when I go to Customize Page and select 'Add Content', it is not providing me with the option to select a report from the Oracle BI Presentation Catalog.

    - Does anyone know if we can embed BI content on this page?

    - Does anyone have any guidelines on exactly which pages we can add/embed BI content to in Fusion Cloud Applications?

    Thanks,

    Richard

      Yes , this can be done . Any OTBI report can be embedded .

      Thanks,

      Soumya

        Soumya,

        Any OTBI report yes can be embedded yes, but can they be embedded in each and every Fusion page...?

        Any ideas why I can't select from the BIPresentationCatalog in the above screenshot?

        Thanks,

        Richard

          Hi Richard ,

          Incase you can't find BIP Catalog , please insert an web page content and in the webpage content provide the link for your report endpoint URL.

          This will help in meeting your objective .

          Thanks,

          Soumya

      Hi Richard,

      Im not sure about BI content but in general different pages has different capabilities enabled for personalization. Meaning e.g. that different content can be incorporated. On some pages you can do something what on the other pages it is restricted. Usually BI content is the most common content which is allowed to be incorporated, so that it strange that on this page you cannot do it.

      Can you please provide navigation to this page as at least me not sure what page we are talking about.

      Also we use quite often BIP reports incorporation via some personalization components (html regions). This gives us possibility to provide more advanced data to the user and more specific to the current page using dynamic binding variables. Attaching you the screenshot with AP Invoice form where we added new Tab and incorporated in that Tab our custom BIP report with relevant AP Invoice Data on one screen.

        Alexey this is simply amazing. Can you provide some docs on the base of which this was done?

        Regards,

        Chris

      • Richard Beet

        Alexey,

        This is really good stuff. Some demo docs would be widely appreciated :-)

        Yeah the exact navigation for my example is:

        • Home
          • Payables
            • Invoices

        It is on the Invoices screen that I have added a new tab called Cheque (seen in the above screenshot). Ideally the customer would like another custom Infolet placing on the Invoices screen, but I couldn't seem to add BI content there either... which is why I added a new tab to the existing Invoices page.

        Thanks,

        Richard

        Hi Alexey,

        Is there a way to remove layout tab and options to "save as" and other options on right top? So that report embeds seem less.

        Thanks,

        Adil

        • Alexey Shtrakhov

          Hi Adil,

          Not sure if you can get rid of that tab, but this can help you to get rid of the other things... Just change the mod to xmode=3 to xmode=4
          So you would have following link:

          <iframe

          src="https://yourbiserverurl.com/xmlpserver/Custom/Financials/Payables/Reports/APInvoiceDetails.xdo?_xpf=&_xpt=0&_xdo=%2FCustom%2F

          Financials%2FPayables%2FReports%2FAPInvoiceDetails.xdo&_xmode=4&_paramsXDO_ESTIMATE_XML_DATA_SIZE=off&_paramsXDO_GEN_S

          QL_EXPLAIN_PLAN=off&_paramsXDO_DM_DEBUG_FLAG=off&_paramsP_INVOICE_ID=#{bindings.InvoiceId.inputValue}&_paramsXDO_ESTIM

          ATE_XML_DATA_SIZE=off&_paramsXDO_GEN_SQL_EXPLAIN_PLAN=off&_paramsXDO_DM_DEBUG_FLAG=off&_xt=Reports&_xf=analyze&_xan

          a=view"

          width="100%" height="600"></iframe>

      Hi Richard,

      So here is the doc related to my post on August 16. This is related on how to add new tab on Invoice Details screen.
      I created step by step instructions on how to do it.

      I hope this will help you to solve your requirements. Im not sure where on invoices screen you would like to add some custom region and what kind of info you want there but custom Infolet I think you cannot add on Invoices page at the moment. So you will probably have to find some other region on the Invoices form where you can add some custom report...

      Anyway you can check this document and if you have some questions, please ask

      I am using below link in iframe

      "<iframe
      src="https://hdas-test.fa.us2.oraclecloud.com:443/analytics/saw.dll?bipublisherEntry&Action=open&itemType=.xdo&bipPath=%2FCustom%2FHuman%20Capital%20Management%2FEmployee%20Report%2FEmployee_Verification_Letter_Report.xdo&bipParams={"_xmode":"4","_xpf":"","_xpt":"0","_dFlag":"false","_edIndex":"0","_dIndex":"0","_rToken":"","_ranDiag":"false","_xdo":"%2FCustom%2FHuman%20Capital%20Management%2FEmployee%20Report%2FEmployee_Verification_Letter_Report.xdo","_paramsXDO_ESTIMATE_XML_DATA_SIZE":"off","_paramsXDO_GEN_SQL_EXPLAIN_PLAN":"off","_paramsXDO_DM_DEBUG_FLAG":"off","_xt":"Output","_xf":"pdf","_xautorun":"true",&_xt=Reports&_xf=analyze&_xan
      a=view}"
      width="100%" height="600"></iframe>"

    • Alexey Shtrakhov

      I see that Gaurav is providing the link for analytics not a BIP server... (see in the link ..analytics/saw.dll?....)
      Can you please open your report in BIP server and copy the link from there...

      Your link to a report should look like:
      src="https://yourbiserverurl.com/xmlpserver/Custom/...

      => then verify that xmode is set to 4 (xmode=4)

      Alexey

        Hi Alexy,

        I am working on the same requirement, my report is having parameters when I give xmode=4 I am unable to see the report parameters.

        when I give xmode=2 I can see the parameters and icons 'Refresh', 'View Report' and 'Actions' , is there any way to remove action icon or we can have only Export option from Actions. Please advice.

        Thanks

        Viswa

      • Viswanadha Reddy

        I have resolved the issue by setting the xmode to 6.

      Hello,

      Is there guidance for embedding OTBI Analysis type reports - those not from BI Publisher, but built via Answers? I have been successful in embedding the report building a dynamically prompted link based on page bindings values, as desired, but the rendered display includes Admin menus, as shown above by Guarav. The article I have found was helpful, but did not provide detail on what to use in the "Apps" bracket section in the link example (shown in red below):

      https://blogs.oracle.com/fadevrel/more-on-embedding-bi-analytics-and-reports

      Specific instructions from the linked Oracle blog article:

      To avoid this opening in the BI Authoring tool you'll need to change the start of the URL (keeping the end part). Copy the URL given by the page and replace the start that is:

      https://[BI Server]/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard&PortalPath=

      with the following:

      https://[BI Server]/[app]/BIProxy?cid=BIPresentationServer&RedirectURL=saw.dll%3fPortalPages&PortalPath=

      Add back the report directory and parameters to the end of the URL, such as for my Dashboard under /Shared/Sales/_portal/Pipeline and opens the Overview tab of that dashboard.

      I note that this linked article is now old, and may no longer be accurate due to advances in the product.

      • Joshua Vincent

        I believe I have solved my own question. The clarification I needed was to follow the standard URL path generated by the Reports & Analytics prompted link, and change the Action from Navigate to Print, as shown in the article here:

        https://cloudcustomerconnect.oracle.com/posts/5520b0c999

        https://[server]/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard&PortalPath=[dashboard path]&Action=Print&col1=%22Project%22.%22Project%20Key%22&val1=#{bindings.ProjectId.inputValue}

        My use case is embedding custom OTBI content into PPM Project Financial Management.

        • Joshua Vincent

          Note: I have been unable to do this for a Dashboard though, in all tests this still shows the entire BI navigation, as shown in screen about by Guarav.

            Hi Joshua,

            Greetings, you can vote for the idea # https://cloudcustomerconnect.oracle.com/posts/b72c781117

      By way of update, we have made good progress with this approach in several parts of the system. For passing parameters, there is significant variation in the availability of Binding or Page Flow parameters throughout the fusion applications (our instance is a nearly full suite of ERP (Finance, Procurement, Projects) and HCM).

      Is there any information available about the BIP report embed, using an iFrame, where the BIP report has multiple tabs? I am very pleased with the output based on the information above for the BIP report, but only the first tab of a multi-tab report displays.

      • Alexey Shtrakhov

        Hi Joshua,

        I tried also with multitabs... but no luck. I didn't find any info on that as well in those times (around 1 year ago). What I sometimes did, I provided to user a link or another tab with embedded report, where user could have different layout (mentioned in the link)... so like this user has straightforward way to get the needed layout in different context.... also you can try to change the layout in the link dynamically based on some binding variables...

        Alexey

      • Joshua Vincent

        And with a little more experimentation, I reverted to _xmode=3 and have all tabs. Success!

        • Alexey Shtrakhov

          Cool :) !!!!!
          The only thing than you will get other stuff as well on the embedded report
          See update upper request in this thread where question was raised....
          "Is there a way to remove layout tab and options to "save as" and other options on right top? So that report embeds seem less."

          and exactly this _xmode=4 handle this

          but ok if you get this for your needs then it is good :)

          We cannot get everything always :) ..... yet ....
