    Hi,

I'm still looking for a solution to this... Is it possible to clear enumeration property via message scenario? And the only option in my case is that it should get cleared when activity is started.

    Hi,

I tried this yesterday, but is it possible to set "null" value to enum field? It works on standard String-fields. I have a dropdown menu which I would like to get cleared (= null) every time an activity is started, but I got an error called "Invalid lookup value".  I added a screen capture of the error explanation from https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/field-service/19d/famsc/message-scenario-configuration-guide.pdf.

Is it possible to clear enumeration property via message scenario? If so, I need to make some changes to the process I've been working on.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

You need to remove the link between those two user types.

Go to User types --> Choose one of those two user types --> go to "Screen configuration" tab --> on top part of screen, there is a text "Screen configuration shared with YOUR OTHER USER TYPE" --> Click change --> and you might want to choose the "Create screen configuration as copy of YOUR OTHER USER TYPE" so it won't delete anything, but it will just copy it and they won't be linked after that.

In the future, if you want to create new user types which copies some user type's screen configuration when creating, but not afterwards, just choose "As copy of WANTED USER TYPE" but don't check the checkbox which says "Share screen configuration".

    Hope this helps :)

You don't have to remove the access to Legacy Manage, just play with the URLs.  In our case, it goes to Core App by adding "/m" to the end of URL (m stands for Mobility) so you can use both Legacy and Core App at the same time and configure them to match each other.

You might want to configure the "Edit User/Resource" UI to match your Legacy Manage resource management to include all the fields you need. I also added picture about deactivating and activating users, please check those out.

Currently in our business, there's nothing we couldn't do in Core App so I'm quite happy with it smiley

    Hi,

I suggest that you now start using the Dispatch Console like you use the Legacy Manage with some motivated dispatchers, and ask them for comments about the Dispatch Console. This way,  you will get comments like: "I noticed we had this thing in the old UI, but not in new" and you still have a lot of time to configure the Core App to have everything you used to have in Legacy Manage.

I'm not sure if it could be possible to copy everything from Legacy Manage to Core App, but in my opinion, it's great to have fresh start and maybe even configure some things better than they used to be in Legacy Manage.

I didn't exactly answer to your question, but this is how we are doing the transition to Core App from Legacy Manage. I hope it helps! :)

    Hi,

I want to ask a clarifying question: Does this now make your unscheduled activities go to scheduled OR does this make already started activities/scheduled activities go to unscheduled bucket?

I would like to put scheduled activities back to technician's unscheduled activities, if they have forgotten to deactivate their day and thus reschedule activities to unscheduled. Can this be done via message scenario?

Also, deactivating their routes automatically (for example at 23:00 each day) would be cool.

    Hi Adam,

I tested this and noticed the same, activity id can not be put to search fields. I'm quite sure it is like this because there are other unique fields in activities. Like in our case, we have our own work order field, but also customer's activity ID, so we use those instead.

Try to figure out some other field that could be used similarly to activity id. Hope this helps!

    Hi,

There are couple of things that came to my mind:

Use newest version of Chrome if you don't already. Also, try removing history data (including cookies) from browser. If that doesn't work, I suggest you to try the Android application, which prevents your users of having multiple instances open on browser, if they only use the app.

Some of our technicians have put their mobile devices on forced 3G, so it doesn't try to stay on 4G when they are in basements doing installation work. This probably won't help in your case, but it's worth trying to see if they still go offline.

Last thing, try to check the history information of those activities and see if there are anything weird on the timestamps or dates. We've had some issues with the OFSC synchronization. I think all the abnormal timestamps are marked with an asterisk " * ". When I sent service request about these synchronization issues, support team told us to wait long enough with a proper connection until the synchronization is done.

Also, check these one more time, if there are something helpful for you:
    https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/field-service/19b/facmu/working-offline.html#working-offline
    https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/field-service/19b/famcu/mobility-cloud-activities.html#c_working_offline

I hope you get it working soon!

Thanks Stewart and Zsolt, I've been personally using the Core Application on my admin role ever since it came, but there are still quite many reasons, e.g. these reports, when I have to go back to Legacy Manage to do something.

I'll check Stewart's suggestion (I think I've tried that) and try to get something out of the reports. IMO the Dashboard and it's reports are quite bad, because most of the time they don't even show correct data or barely anything. Maybe I just have to spend a little more time to learn all the Dashboard secrets and possibilities :)

    Have a nice weekend!

    Hello,

Could you describe why you want that create button to be removed? So we can think about other options to solve this case.

    Thanks,

Hi Sridhar! This is actually something we had done before in test environment, and we had forgotten it. Now that you suggested this, I found it and tested it again. It seems to work just like I wanted, but there was only some slight delay after item was added until the property was updated by message scenario. But anyways, it's the best solution right now!

    Thanks!

    Thanks Zsolt,

    1) This is something I had read earlier but couldn't find it again, so that's why I posted to forums. Thanks for the link and confirmation. I have to think about if we can live with this move triggering the message or not.

    2) Okay, I have to test if I could actually get these both things done via scheduled report / our other systems.

    Hey guys,

    Any ideas on this?

  • Antero Makinen

    Hi Madhu,

Thank you for your comment. Yes, that is the easiest way to see where the activity is when we are looking inside buckets and when looking at list of activities in Dispatch console. But that's not so easy to do on mobile devices, and it's not helpful when searching activities or when activity is opened in UI. smiley

    Hello,

I think this is something we need as well.

In our configuration, we want to set conditions so, that if our "Project number" property is empty, the activity can not be moved away from the bucket. How can we solve this?

Javier, is our need similar to yours? How did you solve your issue?

    Thanks!
