    Content:

    Hello,

Looking for an efficient manner to mass cancel 10000 NIR. Is there a webservice to do so? Can this be achieved through ADFDI, FBDI, ... or any other automated manner?

    Many thanx in advance,

How to enforce every item requires a primary supplier...4

How to enforce every item requires a primary supplier association?
    Content:

Looking for a solution to make certain all items assigned to a specific organization have a supplier association defined which is marked as primary.

Creation of an item without primary supplier association should be blocked, as well unchecking the primary flag without making another supplier association as primary for any specific item. Adding an additional non-primary supplier association or switching primary association should be allowed (as the end result remains with a primary supplier association)

How to prevent item description containing carriage return?2
Topic posted August 2, 2019 by Wim BosBlue Ribbon: 750+ Points in Product Lifecycle Management > Product Development public
    Title:
How to prevent item description containing carriage return?
    Summary:
Need to prevent end user from creating new items (or updating existing items) with item description containing a carriage return (easily happens when using copy/paste from another application/source)
    Content:

Trying to get the "prevent item description containing carriage return" requirement working using a 'Validation' item rule, where the Product Management implementation manual (https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/supply-chain-management/19c/faipr/defining-product-rules.html#FAIPR1237667) mentioned string functions contains() and match() seem most likely candidates to somehow be able to do the job.

We've been using several item rules successfully, but even after several hours of playing around with string functions contains() and match() we seem to be struggling to get this requirement working. For example below rule setup seems to always raise an error (with or with carriage return present in the item description):
    * IF Expression: [Item].[Item Basic].[Organization Code] == "IM"
    * Validation Condition: contains("\\r"; [Item].[Main].[Item Description])
    * User message: Carriage return not allowed in item description

Requesting 'guru' guidance in how to correctly achieve preventing carriage return in item description
    Many thankx in advance!

Possible to make NIR definition and/or final approval...1

Possible to make NIR definition and/or final approval conditional?
    Content:

    Hi,

Have a requirement to make certain steps in NIR approval conditional, based on item EFF value (eg if EFF = 'N' then skip definition from department X).

    1) Is it possible to make definition step conditional?

    2) Is it possible to make final approval conditional? Or is it possible to switch off final approval in total

    Many thanks in advance,

    Wim

Triggering NIR on Draft item in automated manner3
Topic posted March 19, 2019 by Wim BosBlue Ribbon: 750+ Points, tagged Product Hub in Product Lifecycle Management > Product Master Data Management public
    Title:
Triggering NIR on Draft item in automated manner
    Summary:
How to update Draft item with or without triggering NIR creation/submission
    Content:

    Hello everybody,

Looking for an explanation / insight on logic concerning automatic NIR creation for items with approval status 'Draft':

    • When using UI, any update on item does not seem to auto-trigger an NIR. End user has to specifically 'Submit' the 'Draft' item to launch an NIR => that's OK
    • When using webservice we have not found a way to trigger NIR creation on an already existing item with approval status 'Draft' => Is there any way to trigger NIR creation (and submission) on an already existing item with approval status 'Draft' using webservices?
    • When using FBDI we have noticed that the import job automatically creates (and submits) NIR upon any update on an already existing item with approval status 'Draft' => Is there any way NOT to trigger NIR creation upon FBDI based update on an already existing item with approval status 'Draft'

Would appreciate any help / feedback / experience / insight / shed light upon the logic concerning auto NIR creation on already existing items with approval status 'Draft'. Alternatively put we are looking for an automated manner (bulk mangement) to handle both cases, being (1) trigger NIR on already existing items with approval status 'Draft' as well (2) update already existing items with approval status 'Draft' without triggering an NIR.

    Greetings,

    Wim
